How to apply on Microsoft Careers and TCS iBegin without getting stuck
Always keep the job ID
Microsoft listings have a display job number (for example 200046174) and a long pid in the URL. TCS iBegin uses codes like 430864J. Save both the URL and the ID in a sheet with the apply-by date. Titles repeat (“Software Engineer II” exists in Dublin, Redmond, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru).
Microsoft Careers
- Open the official job, not a third-party copy.
- Create or sign in to your Microsoft Careers profile.
- Upload a PDF resume. US applications may allow you to redact dates of birth and graduation years.
- Complete work-authorization questions honestly. Guessing “no sponsorship needed” when you need a visa burns the requisition.
- Submit once. Duplicate applies to the same ID rarely help.
Microsoft AI roles near a listed office generally expect about four days a week on site. If you cannot do that commute, do not apply hoping it is remote.
TCS iBegin
- Go to iBegin and search the job code in keywords (example 430865J).
- Read apply-by. TCS roles can close on a fixed calendar date. If that date is this week, skip and pick a code that still has a couple of weeks.
- Sign up / log in, fill experience and skills so they match the posting (Salesforce, PySpark, SDET, and so on).
- Some roles require a quiz before apply. Do it on a laptop, not mid-commute.
Scam checks
TCS and Microsoft do not ask for a security deposit, training fee, or your UPI PIN. Offers do not come from random Gmail/Yahoo IDs. If someone messages you on WhatsApp with a “joining kit” and a careers-looking PDF, stop and open the job on the real domain: jobs.careers.microsoft.com / apply.careers.microsoft.com or ibegin.tcsapps.com.
After you apply
Log the date, ID, and portal status. Follow up only if the posting is still open after a couple of weeks and the portal allows it. Applying to 15 well-matched IDs beats 80 untracked Easy Apply clicks.
FAQ

- LinkedIn Easy Apply is fine as a backup. For Microsoft and TCS, finish the application on the company site so the requisition ID is attached to your profile.
- I lost the listing. How do I find it again?
- Search the job number (Microsoft display ID like 200047436, or TCS code like 430864J) on the official careers site.
