DESCRIPTION

JOB DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and build large-scale, distributed computing solutions with a focus on information security within the digital payments domain. In this role, you will drive the team's technical direction, shape long-term architecture and vision, and own major deliverables end-to-end. You will provide technical leadership to the engineering team and drive roadmaps for secure, scalable payment solutions powered by cloud computing.

Key job responsibilities
•Design and develop highly secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems for digital payment solutions using cloud computing technologies
•Drive the overall development lifecycle of solutions and manage complex projects from inception to delivery
•Collaborate with security engineers and product managers to develop strategy and roadmaps for secure customer-facing solutions
•Partner with engineering peers to develop technical designs and approaches for new product development
•Establish and promote best practices for software development, documentation, and code quality
•Ensure designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work within defined timelines
•Manage project prioritization, planning of features, stakeholder communication, and tracking of commitments
•Drive operational excellence through monitoring and operation of production services

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
